Sunday Worship
Glorifying God in Song & Preaching
Morning Worship is the primary focus of our Faith Community. We come together to sing hymns, receive Holy Communion, and to open the Scriptures together. There is both a Congregational Reading and a lesson from the Scripture, commonly called a sermon. Service typically lasts 90 minutes.
What Happens Here?
The Bible
Proclaiming God's glory in preaching
Every week, we carry the Bible into the pulpit and it can be clearly seen in the hands of the pastor. Our lessons are designed to answer three questions about the Bible: What does it say? What does it mean by what it says? What do I need to do about it?
Usually you will hear the English Standard Version (ESV) in our service. This is also the translation that we provide to new believers upon being received into membership.
Prayer and Holy Communion
Personal Fellowship with the Lord God
Part of our Worship Experience is that we join together in prayer. Members can share their petitions in the group or submit an anonymous Prayer Card. We all pray audibly, standing with one voice before the Lord and then the pastor stand as our representative before God and takes our needs to Him in Prayer.
All Baptized believers are welcome to receive the Elements of Communion and to remember the sacrifice that Jesus Christ made for us on the Cross. Communion is offered on the 1st Sunday of the month.
Hymns of Glorious Praise
Exalting God in Song
Our worship service opens in song. and we primarily sing hymns. The hymns we sing are both traditional and contemporary but all are full of the rich theology that is our heritage as the church.Elevating our hearts in song focuses us on the glory of God and prepares us to hear fro m Him in the preaching of the Word.
About
Abounding Grace Baptist Church is an intimate community of believers in Christ. We gather as a house church in Phoenix's Central Corridor, a place of prayer, peace and joy to all who join us. Bordering the Melrose District, Pierson Place, and the Central Corridor, our community is richly diverse, with people of different ages and backgrounds coming together to worship and serve together. Is God's peace missing in your life? Is your worship stagnant? More importantly, do you need to know Jesus? Our hearts, arms, and doors are open. Come home to Jesus today.
“No church can be prospered in which all the ministration comes from the pulpit”
